I love sweets, the hardest choice growing up was collecting my pocket money every Friday, racing to the local dairy and having to choose between the glories of hard, chewy, chocolately, creamy goodness spread out before me. How I loved the movie “Charlie and the chocolate factory” and dreamed of my own world where everything was made of vintage candy. As I got older this love of sweets seemed to set me apart from my more “serious peers” and their grown up treats, nattering on and on about virtues of this latte and that wine. I admit it, I felt alone and alienated in this “sugar unfriendly society” a sweet leper, unable to grow up and concentrate on serious foods, green beans, brussel sprouts. Then one day it came into my life, a fellow sugar addict. And putting our heads together we set upon an insidious plan to reintroduce the magic of sweets to a serious (and let’s face it boring) adult.
