  2. BIG BEN The present Clock Tower was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October1834.The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style.

  3. LONDON EYE The London Eye is a large metal structure. It is also known as the Millennium Wheel and is one of the largest observation wheels (a type of Ferris) in the world. It was opened in 2000. It is 135 meters ,high. The London Eye is a popular tourist destination. More than three million people visited it last year. At the time it was built, in 1999, it was the tallest giant wheel in the world. But then the London Eye was overtaken in May 2006, by the Star of Nanchang, which is 160 meters high and stands in the eastern Chinese city Nanchang.

  4. LONDON ZOO London Zoo is the world's oldest scientific zoo. It was opened in London on 27 April 1828 and was originally intended to be used as a collection for scientific study. It was eventually opened to the public in 1847.Today it houses a collection of 755 spices of animals, with 16,802 individuals, making it one of the largest collections in the United Kingdom.

  5. BUKINGHAM PALACE Buckingham Palace is the London home and primary residence of the British monarch. Located in the Westminster, the pal is a setting for state occasions and royal hospitality. It has been a focus for the British people at times of national rejoicing and crisis.

HYDE PARK Hyde Park is the largest of four parks which form a chain from the entrance of Kensington Palace through Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, via Hyde Park Corner and Green Park (19 hectares), past the main entrance to Buckingham Palace and then on through Saint James's Park (23 hectares) to Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall.

  7. MADAM TUSSAUDS Madame Tussaud's wax museum has now grown to become a major tourist attraction in London, incorporating (until 2010) the London Planetarium in its west wing. It has expanded and will expand with branches in Amsterdam, Bangkok, Berlin, Blackpoll, Dubai, Hamburg, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Hot Springs, AR, Las Vegas, Moscow, New York City, Shanghai, Vienna and Washington, D.C. Today's wax figures at Tussaud's include historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars and famous murderers.

  8. LODON BRIDGE London Bridge is a bridge over the River Thames, connecting the City of London and Southward, in central London. Situated between Cannon Street Railway Bridge and Tower Bridge, it forms the western end of the Pool of London. On the south side of the bridge are Southward Cathedral and London Bridge station; on the north side are the Monument to the Great Fire of London and Monument tube station.
