This is like a point of reference for the experiment. Other variables may be changed (independent variables).

Chemical properties determines whether chemical change will occur. • Change in color or odor, production of heat, fizzing and foaming, sound or light being given off, etc. • A chemical change constitutes a change in composition. It is virtually impossible to revert an object to its original composition. • Conductivity – ability to conduct an electrical charge
