  1. Amazing Australia Australia is a fascinating country. It is full of strange and wonderful place, unusual animals and amazing culture.

  2. Facts about Australia • Area: 7.7 million square km • Population: 20 million people • Capital: Canberra • A federation of 6 states and 2 territories • Until 1901 – a British colony • Now – an independent country • National holiday: Australia Day – 26th January • Currency: Australian Dollar

  3. The flag of Australia The flag was chosen in 1901. It has three symbols: the Union Jack, the Commonwealth Star, the Southern Cross.

  4. 1) Fill in the proper article where it is necessary 1.--- Australia is 2.--- island, 3.--- continent and 4.---country. It’s 5.--- world’s largest island and its 6.--- smallest continent.
