This report details the performance of candidates taking the Washington Educator Skills Test (WEST-E) from Fall 2009 to Summer 2010. The data shows that over 300 teacher education completers earned 404 endorsements, with many passing multiple exams. Current exams are fully aligned to Washington state endorsement competencies • WCE is approved to offer 26 endorsements • Many of our student choose to take one or more exams beyond their primary area(s) of training • Highly qualified • Employability WEST E Exams
In 2009-2010 there were 309 teacher education completers • They earned 404 endorsements, passing 404 WEST E exams • These 404 passing exams include: • 22 exams that were passed on the second try • 11 exams that were passed on the third or more try WEST E Exams
43% of the 2009-2010 completers took two exams • 18% took 3 exams • Frequent second endorsement for elementary grads is reading. • Frequent second endorsement for special ed grads is elementary • Secondary grads often took social studies plus language arts or various science combinations WEST E Exams
