  2. I always wanted to create an easy to use real-time communications software

  3. Based on SIP standards

  4. Not for just for plain telephony but also for other desirable forms of communication: HD Audio, Instant Messaging and Desktop Sharing

  5. I knew it was a difficult task

  6. There are +1200 standards related to SIP today

  7. Most of all relevant Internet technologies are embedded into such software

  8. Many have tried and many have failed

  9. Those who have tried and succeeded are silos, they do not interoperate and are not using Open Standards

  10. What does one need to create a compelling end-user experience for a SIP client application?

  11. First, it has to work!

  12. One needs a good server with all relevant features

  13. I started from my goal backwards in 2003

  14. One learns a lot from building the servers, understands how SIP clients should behave

  15. In 2008, we finished building most of the relevant SIP infrastructure components in use by many operators

  16. OpenSIPs, MediaProxy, OpenXCAP, MSRPRelay

  17. We have created in this process what is AG Projects core business today, selling SIP infrastructure

  18. We gained the necessary experience required for building the SIP client

  19. We secured the necessary funding

  20. We went back to the design of the SIP client

  21. The key is simplicity and desirability

  22. My father should be able to use it

  23. My wife should find pleasure in using it

  24. My son should be proud his father did it
