  2. Treasures in California Johann Augustus Sutter was a man who found gold in California. It took forever for people to know. In December 1843, the first President of the United States called all people to a meeting that there was gold. People were so happy. You just learned facts about Treasures in California.

  3. They were running to find good fortune in California. Many people died of hunger along the way. And many got sick. Finally they made it to California. They all dug holes but not one person, even found gold. People who went to California were called The “forty- niners’’.

  4. Many people came from China. But the China people were hated from the whites. So instead the China people just settled in San Francisco.

  5. Then all of sudden the gold meeting was called the Gold Rush. The Gold Rush was spread around the whole world. People started charging near California.

  6. Things to see and do in California Lots of people come to California to Have fun. They surf and they play Sports like: Basket Ball, Hockey, Ice Skating, Skiing wrestling and more. People enjoy doing things In California. California is loved for it’s Sandy Beaches, it’s Beautiful Sun Shine and Cause of it’s land. California is a place where People go. People love California cause they think their free! You Just Learned About Things To See And Do In California!

  7. Death Valley Death Valley is the hottest and driest place In the United States. The deserts in Death Valley Are hot in the summer and warm in the winter. Death Valley gets almost no rain cause it is so hot that the rain dries up so fast. But when it is too much rain it makes a mud slide. Mud slides causes death to people. It goes like a tsunami but, instead it is gooey and it slides. But it’s different in the mountains. Cause it doesn’t have mudslides. You learned all about mudslides, Death Valley, and the mountains!

  8. Earth Quake Disaster! There was an Earth Quake called: The Great SanFrancisco Earth Quake. It caused death to many people. It was really shaky and it collapsed many houses. It seemed like hours and hours. Until, It finally had stopped. Some people died and some got injuries but... most of all some died And got injuries. They were send to the Hospital. You learned all about earth quake disasters in California.

  9. SYMBOLS Don’t know if your state has symbols? They do! My state flag is a: Grizzly Bear, My State bird is a: California Valley quail, My state Flower is a: Golden Poppy, My motto is: Eureka (I got it!) Eureka is in greek. They mean( I got gold!). You learned all facts about Symbols!

  10. The Land California is known for it’s warm sunshine And it’s ocean coast line. Deserts can be found around or in California. California also has Lakes and rivers and oceans and beaches and also waterfalls!

  11. One Big Tree Did you know that California has big trees? Well yes. California’s biggest tree is called: General Sherman tree. It is in: Sequoias Yosmite National Parks. General Sherman Tree is about 3,000 years old, grows in the Western Slope of Sierra Nevada. It exceeds about 200 feet(61m). And it is so big that cars could go through the tree trunks. General Sherman Trees weighs about 6,000 tons!!! It is one Biggest Trees there ever was. It stands about 275 feet(84m)high! You learned facts of One Big Tree.

  12. 1st Explorers First explorers came from Spain. They were the only ones to first see California. 200 years later, the Spanish explorers began to settle that area. Soldiers built forts in the land of California.

  13. Quick facts • California got it’s name from a spanish love story. • Earth quake in 1906. • 700 people died from earth quake. • huge trees in California called General Sherman Tree. You just learned facts of Quick facts!!!
