  2. Support Program for the Translation and Publication of Brazilan Authors Aboard , held by the National Library Foundation / Ministry of Culture. • Exists since 1991, it was reshaped in 2011.

  3. Grants for new translations and reeditions. • Grants up to 8,000 USD. • Continuous application process. • Literature, humanities, children’s books.

  4. Resultssofar: • 583grantsbetween 1991 and 2013: • 161 from 1991 to 2009; • 422 from 2010 to July 2013; • 72 % in 2010-2013.

Jorge Amado: 13 different titles; Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Dutch, English, German, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish • Clarice Lispector: 14 different titles; Chinese, Croatian, Danish, English, German, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish • Rubem Fonseca: 13 different titles, English, Italian, Macedonian, Spanish • Alberto Mussa: 5 titles; Armenian, Bulgarian, English, French, Italian, Romanian • Moacyr Scliar: 7 different titles; English, French, German, Romanian • Machado de Assis: 10 titles (3 novels, 7 short stories’ collections); Arabic, English, Finnish, Italian, Slovenian, Spanish • Adriana Lisboa: 3 different titles; Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Romanian, Serbian

Michel Laub: 1 title; Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish • Luis Fernando Veríssimo: 4 different titles; Dutch, English, French, Italian, Romanian, Serbian • Chico Buarque: 2 titles; Croatian, English, French, German, Korean • João Paulo Cuenca: 2 titles; English, French, German, Spanish • Lima Barreto: 5 different titles; French, German, Italian, Spanish • João Almino: 3 different titles; English, French, Italian, Serbian • Luiz Ruffato: 4 different titles; Italian, German, Spanish

  7. Translated into German, 2010-2013 • 68 titles by German language publishers • 49 authors • 62 new translations, 6 reeditions

  8. Exchange Program for Brazilian Authors • Grants for foreign publishers and institutions to cover the travel expenses of Brazilian authors promoting their books abroad. • 2012-2013, 69 grants • Authors travelled to Argentina, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Uruguay, Peru, United States, Spain, France, Israel

  9. Residency Program for Translators • Residency grants for translators • 2012-2013: grants to 15 translators, for a period of at least 5 weeks in Brazil • Translators from Argentina, Spain, France, UK, USA, Germany, Italy, Greece • Twelve different authors: Ana Paula Maia, Deonísio da Silva, Edney Silvestre, Érico Veríssimo, Hilda Hilst, José Lins do Rego, Luis Fernando Veríssimo, Machado de Assis, Michel Laub, Nelson Rodrigues, Rubem Fonseca

  10. Support Program for the Publication of Brazilian Authors in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP) • Publishers from CPLP member states are eligible for this program (Angola, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe). • Ten grants awarded in 2012. • .

  11. Machado de Assis Magazine – Brazilian Literature in Sample Translations • Initiative by the National Library Foundation and Instituto Itaú Cultural, supported by the Minstry of External Relations and the Official Press of the State of São Paulo • Four issues have been released since Frankfurt Book Fair 2012 • Fifth issue: Launch, Thursday, 5 pm
