(B) Units. • The course grants units of credit based upon a relationship specified by the governing board, between the number of units assigned to the course and the number of lecture and/or laboratory hours or performance criteria specified in the course outline. Note… • “In the natural sciences, it is standard university practice to base the number of units awarded only on the in-class hours.” • Issues related to faculty load are not the CC’s purview. • The curriculum committee's main role is to assign accurately and appropriately student units.   14. (c) Noncredit Course • A noncredit course is a course which, at a minimum, is recommended by the college and/or district curriculum committee… and approved by the district governing board as a course meeting the needs of enrolled students. ASCCC Curriculum Institute 4pm July 13
