  1. “Jesus said . . . ‘In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” [Jn 16:33] “Jesus said . . . ‘Heal the sick who are there and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God is near you.’” [Lk 10:9] “Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance.”[James 1:2-4]

  2. “Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; and the Lord will raise him up.” [James 5:14-16]

  7. “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well and the Lord will raise him up.” Healing happens in God’s way & timing

  8. Biblical Faith 1. Right belief in who God is 2. Active trust in what He can do 3. Based on God’s will for the person and season

  9. The church should be a supernatural place of: Grace, power and . . . Truth

  10. “If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.” Purity of heart is the most important healing of all

  11. The church should be a supernatural place of: Grace, power, humility and . . . Holiness

  12. 1. Sin empowers sickness Later Jesus found him at the temple and said to him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” [Jn 5:14] That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. [1 Co 11:30]

  13. 2. Sin causes the worst suffering of all For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. [Romans 7:5] The mind of sinful man is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; [Romans 8:6] What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit his very self? [Lk 9:25]

  14. 3. Sin removes God’s healing presence and fullness of life from us Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. (Ps 51:10-11) “Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight” [Col 1:21-22]

  15.  “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits— who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases” (Ps 103:3) Jesus, himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed (1 Pe2:24) Pray For: Grace Power Humility Holiness
