Enhancing Urban Sanitation Coverage in Lesotho: A Case Study on Water Facility Initiatives
DESCRIPTION
This case study highlights the challenges and achievements in urban sanitation coverage in Lesotho, focusing on the Water Facility and its role in increasing sanitation access. In 2002, sanitation coverage was at 61%, rising to a targeted 80.5% by 2015 through the MDGs. However, the current urban sanitation coverage stands at a mere 3%, with only 3,142 connections to the sewage network in Maseru. This seminar at the GoL EU Delegation in Nairobi emphasizes the need for innovative solutions and collaborative efforts to improve urban sanitation in Lesotho.
