All Washington public high school graduates must fulfill the following four statewide requirements as determined by the State Board of Education: Develop a High School and Beyond Plan Pass the designated 22 credits in Yelm 9-12th grade Pass State Tests or Approved Alternatives to those tests Complete a Culminating Project Washington State Graduation Requirements

  5. Sophomore Credit Requirements SOPHOMORE = 6 total credits earned in 10th grade Semester classes can be traded with other courses depending on the students’ career/interest areas.

Graduation Requirement:High School and Beyond Plan • Students detail their High School and Beyond plan in Technical Communications after participating in Career Exploration activities during 7th-9th grade (in Navigation Lessons and Tech Com) • Students monitor academic progress with guidance from YHS counselors and teachers in Homeroom to reevaluate/revise as needed their four year course plan for meeting high school graduation requirements • Students identify steps needed to access desired educational and/or training options after high school (e.g. 2-4 year college, vocational or technical training, certificate program, apprenticeship, internship, military service or the workforce)

  19. Graduation Requirement:Certificate of Academic Achievement (CAA) The CAA is earned by: • Passing the HSPE in reading and writing (HSPE is the high school version of the MSP) and • Passing the EOC in Algebra, Geometry and Biology.

  20. Graduation Requirement:Culminating Project This integrated learning project helps students understand the connection between school and their next steps in life. The project includes: a proposal, evidence of researched topic, log of time worked outside of school, and presentation to a panel.  This is completed independently in your Junior or Senior year.
