  2. Welcome to PN 152 Clinical • You are in your final clinical experience here at Concorde. Congratulations! This is an exciting term with different clinical experiences. You will have preceptorship for one half the term and the other half will be split with an instructor led leadership and a clinical enrichment time. • Be sure that your supervising instructor has your current phone number • Paperwork is on Blackboard. If you misplace anything from your packet, use Blackboard to obtain another copy. • If you have questions please ASK! • Every student is required to view this Power Point.

  3. OBJECTIVES • To provide standard information regarding PN 152 clinical • To provide specific information of each component of PN 152 • To make information available to all students and faculty via Blackboard

Documents (Blackboard) • Placement Addresses • Names and addresses of precepted and leadership site are provided • Dress code per Concorde policy • Scrubs • White or black closed leather shoes • Appropriate grooming • Name badges • Follow piercing policy • Special instructions if required (ie: Coffee Creek) • Things to bring • Arrival times

  6. Documents (Blackboard) • Preceptorship Instructions – Highlights • Call your instructor first thing when you get to your preceptor site everyday, prior to entering the building. (No call could mean being marked absent). • Attendance – • You must attend every day (includes leadership and clinical enrichment ). • If you are 30 min. late, it counts as absent day. • 4 tardies for any portion of PN 152 equals an absence. • If you are absent, your time will be made up where it was missed. • More than 2 absences may result in withdrawal from the program. • Meet with your Clinical Teaching Associate (or alternate) first thing daily.

Documents (Blackboard) • Preceptorship Instructions – Highlights Continued • PAPERWORK • Journals due weeklyfor all students • HAND IN TO MICHAEL GINOVSKY, ADON • If he isn’t in his office, slip paperwork under door! • Letter of Agreement signed by student, CTA and instructor, due the first week of preceptorship • Clinical Log record hours daily and have CTA sign them • Evaluations due at midterm and end of term

  11. Documents (Blackboard) • PRECEPTED CLINICAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Students should arrive prior to the start of your shift . Arrive early the first day to allow time to find your location. • At no time will a student be allowed to leave a clinical site early unless there is an emergency or the student becomes ill during the clinical day. Contact your instructor prior to leaving clinical ! • Students are not allowed to attend clinical if they are ill • Report an absence atleast 1 hour before the start of the clinical shift to your instructor and site. • Sign and turn in form.
