  9. Islam • Islamis a monotheistic religion • The Prophet Muhammad is rumor to be the founder of the religion • 5,000 communities in the North Caucasus, in Dagestan, Orenburg, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk, Samara, Ulyanovsk.

  13. Judaism • Judaism is a monotheistic religion. • Jews believed that Abraham made promise to god that he would be the father of Judaism. • Judaism was formed 400 years ago.

  15. how did Judaism spread to Russia? • In the seventh century jews from greece, the middle east, and mediterranean migrated to the Caucasus and different regions. • These Jews were able to spread their beliefs in places they settled in.

The judaism beliefs are called the 13 principles of faith • God exist • God is one and unique • God is incorporeal • God is eternal • Prayer is to be directed to God alone and no other • The words of prophets are true • Moses’ prophecies are true, and Moses is the greatest of the prophets. • The written Torah(first 5 books of the Bible) • There will be no other Torah • God knows the thoughts and the deeds of men • God will reward the good and punish the wicked • The messiah will return • The dead will be resurrected

  17. Buddhism • Was founded 2,500 years ago and is still the dominant religion in the far east • Buddhist developed into varies forms • Buddist have put an emphasis on religious rituals and worship of deities over the years

  19. How was Buddhism spread to Russia? • Mongolians first came to the regions close to the Mongolian border in the seventeenth century . • Mongols belief of Buddhism was instilled into the people who lived near Lake Baikal
