  2. What is Autism Spectrum Disorder ? • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects an individuals communication, social & adaptive skills. • The cause of autism is idiopathic. However could be of genetic, familial history, poor parenting skills.

  3. Why Therapy treatment for autism • Children with autism can have a problem with coordinating their thoughts, their senses and their actions. They may be hyperactive or less active, socialising issues etc. • Therapy treatments are specifically designed to train children on how to coordinate all their senses and to perform activities like a normal child will do. • It requires specifically trained practitioners, equipments and environment to perfectly execute the therapies.

Types of therapy treatments • Occupational Therapy Occupational therapy program focuses on evaluation and training of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, cognitive-perceptual skills, pre-writing skills, activities of daily living, social skills, play skills, and sensory integrative dysfunction.

Speech therapist integrates all aspects of speech and language development which includes receptive and expressive language, articulation,respiration and fluency.

The therapy involves identifying objectionable, maladaptive behaviours and replacing them with a socially desirable, healthier and adaptive type of behaviours.

Remedial Education Program Remedial education, also known as Developmental education or Basic Skill Education or 3R’s Education (Reading, writing and Arithmetic) is a basic catch-up education for typical students of a certain age who have fallen below minimum standards in the areas of literacy and numeracy skills.

Social skills training SST may be used by therapists, teachers or other professionals to help those diagnosed with psychological, anxiety, mood and personality disorders, developmental disabilities, low self confidence, cognitive deficits, Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders (ADHD).

Play therapy leads to improvement in areas of language development, social skills, reduction of stereotypical behaviours or improve fine and gross motor skills.

Sensory integration therapy is done to provide the right kind of sensory stimulations for normalizing the sensory systems.
