Section … Section Society … Minimum 12 Members Society What is a Chapter A technical subunit of one or more Sections, or a Council, constituted by a minimum of twelve (12) members of one or more Technical Societies, established by petition to the parent Unit(s) and Societies concerned to represent and fulfill the technical needs of the members and the missions of IEEE.   6. Chapters are ideal vehicles for informative technical meetings and for networking. • Chapters can receive funding from both the parent technical Society and the parent Section. Why should a Society members form a Chapter Philadelphia, PA

Chapter Reporting • Annually report to the parent Section: meeting activity, financial activity and current officers. • A Chapter/Affinity Group may be dissolved if there are no reports submitted for 3 consecutive years. • 3. A Chapter should hold not less than two technical meetings per year and maintain a membership of not fewer than ten members, other than Students.  Joint Chapter meetings (where the Chapter is joint with two or more Sections) will be credited to the administrative (parent) Section. Chapter Chair: Duties & Responsibilities • Preside at Chapter ExCom and other mtgs.. • Work with other Chapter officers to determine program of activities for Chapter • Represent Chapter at Section ExCom mtgs.. and Society-sponsored mtgs.. • Familiar with Section bylaws, policies & procedures, RAB Operations Manual, and any Society requirements for activity • Submit or insure submission of required reporting to Section and Society Philadelphia, PA
