  1. Jiguru G - Tips to Avoid Stress while Preparing for Civil Services Exams

  2. Civil Services exam is considered as one of the toughest exams in India. A large number of students appear for civil services exam every year. However, only a small percentage of them are able to fulfill their dream of becoming an IAS or IPS officer. Although the civil services exam is difficult to crack, with the right strategy and guidance, anyone can clear it.

  3. Stress is one of biggest factors that can disrupt students' IAS preparation and make it difficult for them to perform to the best of their abilities. Cut-throat competition, long study hours, vast syllabus and other similar factors can cause stress in a student and make it difficult for him to concentrate on his studies.

  4. Exercise In the midst of rigorous study schedules and UPSC exam coaching classes, it's easy to forget about the need to stay physically active. Most students end up ignoring their physical health. This not just makes them vulnerable to illnesses but has a negative impact on their mood and behaviour as well. Staying active and exercising regularly can go a long way when it comes to beating stress.

  5. Balanced diet A balanced diet will help a student stay physically and mentally fit. Many students, particularly those who're staying away from their homes, end up ignoring their diet. As they don't want to spend time preparing food, they often end up consuming fast food. The right food not just energizes one's body but also increases his mental alertness.

  6. Proper Sleep Sleep is one of the most neglected aspects of civil services exam preparation. Many students develop the habit of studying in the night and end up drinking pots of coffee to stay awake. This can disrupt their normal body cycle and affect their health too. Even if someone prefers studying late in the night, it is important to ensure that he gets at least 6-8 hours of sleep.

  7. Pursuing Hobbies Hobbies and entertainment don't figure on the priority list of most IAS aspirants. However, it is important to take time out and indulge in something that one enjoys doing. Maintaining a personal life and keeping a hobby will not just provide a break from rigorous study schedule but also keep one's mind calm and composed.
