  2. Fully committed - serving the poor 18 He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing. 19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt. Deut. 10:18,19 (NIV)

  3. Fully committed - serving the poor Speak up and judge fairly;    defend the rights of the poor and needy. Proverbs 31: 9 (NIV) 20 She opens her arms to the poor    and extends her hands to the needy. Proverbs 31: 20 (NIV)

  4. Fully committed - serving the poor 6 “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice    and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free    and break every yoke? 7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them,    and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood? Isaiah 58: 7-8 (NIV)

  5. Fully committed - serving the poor 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. John 14:12 (NIV)

  6. Fully committed – serving the poor 1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it. 3 Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering. Hebrews 13:1-3(NIV)

  7. Fully committed – serving the poor • 9James, Cephas[a] and John, those esteemed as pillars, gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship when they recognized the grace given to me. They agreed that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcised. 10 • All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along. . Gal 2:9-10 (NIV)

  8. Fully committed – serving the poor 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Gal 6:9-10 (NIV)

  9. Fully committed – serving the poor When you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Matt. 6:2 (NIV)

  10. Fully committed – serving the poor 14 What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them? 15 Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it? James 2:14-16 (NIV)
