  2. Pollution of the air • More poisonous gases in the atmosphere • The worst situation in the biggest cities • Caused by overusing cars • Caused by heavy industry • Some factories emit SO2 • SO2 + rainwater = acid rain

  3. Acid rains • = industry gases joined with water steam • Acid rains pollute the water and the soil • Acid rains kill flowers, trees and even animals • Then trees grow more slowly, they grow old too quickly and die

  4. BUT?! • A lot of forests are destroyed by the man because of wood and places for new buildings • Forests are important for oxygen, food, fuel, shelter and medicines

  5. Pollution of the water • Caused by chemical factories • They are built on river banks • They release sewage water and industrial waste to these rivers • A lot of water animals die

  6. Shortage of water • Some rivers are becoming drier • Caused by global warming and by wasting water by man • There is less fresh water • Caused by pollution of water in the rivers

  7. Global warming • Caused by greenhouse effect • Carbon dioxide absorbs heat from the sun • More carbon dioxide = the temperature is going up • Results : melting of icebergs, increase of sea level, risk od floods

  8. Ozone layer protects us against UV radiation • Ozone hole is caused by chlorine • Chlorine is in the atmosphere because of freons • Freons were used in fridges and sprays • Now it is forbidden

  9. Good deeds • I don´t waste water • I separate a rubbish • I don´t use a car a lot

  10. Bad deeds • Using of chemical cleaning products • Sometimes I waste energy
