Ex-BBC News production head to head mental health at Film & TV Charity Former BBC News senior head of production Anna Mishcon has joined the Film and TV Charity to oversee its mental health-oriented Whole Picture Toolkit. As development executive, Mishcon’s brief is to develop the next phase of the free resource, which the charity launched in March, with further implementation of guidance, wellbeing plans, risk assessment and senior leader training. To date, the charity has provided support to more than 20 productions for Banijay, ITV Studios and Rare TV to date. Mishcon spent 24 years at the BBC and oversaw production management for flagship news brands Panorama, Newsnight and BBC Breakfast and factual commissions including Murdered By My Boyfriend and Russia with Simon Reeve. She has also worked at Raw TV on National Geographic and CNN shows. At the BBC, she launched Extend in News, a programme to improve access for disabled journalists and production staff. Mishcon is also credited with helping production managers get recognition at the Bafta TV awards. Whilst at the BBC she mentored a diverse range of staff and launched a disability programme Extend in News to improve access for disabled journalists and production staff. She was also instrumental in getting Bafta to agree to recognise production management talent in its awards this year. Mishcon started at the charity this week.
