  38. Limits on connected modules • Max 64 slave modules per network however the following must also be satisfied • [(1xa)+(2xb)+(3xc)+(4xd)] <= 64 • a:number of modules occupying 1 station • b:number of modules occupying 2 stations • c:number of modules occupying 3 stations • d:number of modules occupying 4 stations • [(16xA)+(54xB)+(88xC)] <= 2304 • A:number of remote I/O stations <= 64 • B:number of remote device stations <= 42 • C:number of local stations <=26

  39. RAS-Functions • Reliable systems can be constructed by utilizing standard functions: • A function to disconnect slave stations • Due to a bus type connection, the entire network does not go down even though a remote or local station went down due to power off, etc.. • A defective slave station can be replaced while the network remains on-line. (The power supply to the station to be replaced must be turned off.) • Link status verification function • The network can be monitored from the master station while in the debugging or maintenance stage of the system development. • The current data link status can be monitored using the link special relay (SB) and link special register (SW) in the buffer memory. • Master station keeping track of the communication status • Diagnostic function • Hardware and cable wiring can be checked with the switch setting. RAS = Reliability, Availability, Serviceability

  40. Automatic Recovery Function Disconnect Function CC-Link RAS Functions Link Status Verification Diagnostic Function Automatic Recovery Function • When a faulty station which has been cut off from the data • link due to power off, etc., recovers to the normal state, it will automatically return to the data link • Master station does not need to be resetted when an abnormal station returns to normal With MELSECNET/MINI-S3 the system goes down when a faulty station occurs. An optional bypass module is required to keep the link running.
