  3. Industries etc. Some major industries in Virginia are the Plantation Agriculture (tobacco, wheat, corn). Agricultural products such as broilers, beef cattle, chicken eggs, dairy products, turkey, sheep, and lambs. There is also hogs, farm chickens, honey, farm raised fish and wool. Natural resources are tobacco grain and fruits. That`s a lot of tobacco!

  4. Religious Faiths ,main cities etc. Religious Faith is the Quaker Religion. Two major cities in the colony are Jamestown, Williamsburgs. It became a state in June 25th, 1788. That’s a long time from now! What it was like to be a kid, the daughters wore the same thing as their mothers, and the boys wore the same thing as their fathers. The kids worked about as hard as their parents. The Currency (Money): $1/6, $ 1/4, $ 1/3, $ 2/3, $1, $3, $5, $6, $7, $10 and $15 bills.

  5. Lifestyle Lifestyle in Virginia is, pants are called breeches, waist coats, and a tri-corner hat with three corners, and they sometimes wear wigs. For school they were only thought reading, writing, and arithmetic (Math).

  6. Chicken Pie • What they ate were mainly fish, turtles, and corn. Their recipe is “Virginia’s Ham and Chicken pie”. That sounds good! • Here is how you cook it: • For the crust: you will need 1 teaspoon salt, and 1 cup vegetable shortening. For the filling :you will need 2 large onions coarsely chopped, 1 pound skinless boneless chicken breast, 2 cans chicken broth, 10 ounces of mushrooms. Then ¾ teaspoon marjoram, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 large egg beaten with 1 tablespoon water, 2 ½ cups of all – purpose flour, 1/2 teaspoon marjoram, 6 tablespoons milk, 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, 2 pounds skin less boneless chicken thigh, salt and pepper, 6 stalks of celery, 6 ounces of Virginian ham, 1/3 cup of all – purpose flour, ½ teaspoon of browning and seasoning sauce. • Chicken Pie

  7. Extra Facts Additional facts: During the “starving time” 1609-1610 Jamestown settlers ate raccoons, oysters, and even poisonous snakes.
