  1. MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY

  2. Introduction • We have chosen to do our assembly about May being the month of Mary • During this month we try to go to her more frequently and ask her for many things • As a class we have been looking at Mary’s prayer the Hail Mary and thinking about what it means.

  3. Hail Mary • When you greet someone of importance you often say hail • Mary is important for Catholics because she is the mother of God. • Not only is she God’s mother she is our mother in Heaven too.

  4. Full of Grace • Mary is the only creature on earth that was born without sin in her soul • For this reason she is full of grace • Grace means gifts given by God • Mary has many gifts: Beauty, love, peace, patience, forgiveness to name just a few

  5. The Lord is with thee • Mary and Jesus are always together • When we pray to Mary, Jesus is always at her side • When we pray to God, Mary is always near

  6. Blessed art thou amongst women • Of all women Mary is the most Holy • We look to her as our model

  7. Blessed is the fruit of they womb Jesus • Jesus was born of Mary in a stable in Bethlehem • Mary said ‘Yes’ to God when he asked her to give birth to his Son.

  8. Holy Mary, mother of God

  9. Pray for us sinners • Sometimes we make mistakes • We hurt God by the things we do and say • But God is a loving father, he welcomes us back with open arms • He always forgives no matter what we have done • Mary prays for us, that we choose to do good

  10. Now and at the hour of our death • One day our life on earth will come to an end • At that moment we want Mary to be next to us, holding our hand and taking us to Heaven

  11. Amen • This means we believe everything we have just prayed

  12. Holy Rosary • This is a picture of a rosary • It is Mary’s special prayer • She asked three shepherd children in Fatima to pray it often and tell others to pray
