  2. Old Testament Survey – All About Moses: Exodus I. ISRAEL’S PREDICAMENT Exod 1:6-8 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.(KJV) Ø Knew not Joseph – it happens Ø The difficulty of the slavery Ø The dread of abortion (killing their children)

GOD’S PROCUREMENT Exod 3:7-8 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. GOD’S PROCUREMENT He had planned this years before in the birth of Moses Heb 11:23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king's commandment. Moral Law These are the Ten Commandments and they are still in effect today in exactly the same way when they were first delivered. They were not given as a means to earn salvation and they still do not. The Moral laws of God are truths that are right forever. Civilized nations around the world have used these same moral laws to develop decency among their citizenry.

Civil Law These included provisions for procuring a military, providing for the poor, punishing the criminal, and protecting the innocent These laws have made their way into the fabric of the Constitution of the United States, as the framers of the Constitution studied the civil law of God as they were working on the document which governs this great nation.

Ceremonial Law This portion of the law was nailed to the cross with Jesus Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (KJV) They are not for today and are a burden that the earliest Christian leaders declared need not be placed upon the believer in Christ Acts 15:28-29 For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye (KJV)
