Class Overview Grades: 1/3 class performance 1/3 each set of assignments (six total per quarter) • Procedures: • Use class time to work on your art • Clean up when you are done for the day.
Complete the grade cover sheet: Check appropriate bubbles and sign name at the top. Paperclip both breadth pictures and the thumbnail sketches to the cover sheet. Place in blue folder on teacher’s desk. Complete the grade cover sheet, same as for flat work. Paperclip three masterpieces to the cover sheet, and place inside blue folder. Sign in for grading. Procedure for turning in art for grading
Portfolio Candidates • Exempt all nine weeks tests • Exempt Final Exam in May • Send Portfolios off for scoring ( Scores do not affect g.p.a.)

2-D Design Requirements: • Quality (5 pieces) • 5 actual works that demonstrate mastery of design in concept, composition, and execution • Concentration (12 slides) • A body of work investigating a strong underlying visual idea in 2-D design • Breadth (12 slides) • Works that demonstrate a variety of concepts and approaches in 2-D design
Quality-2D Design • 5 original works • Prints/graphic arts • scratchboard • canvas paintings • drawings
2-D Design Requirements: • Quality (5 pieces) • Actual pieces are mailed • Maximum size 18”x24” Tom Bongiorno Score: 6 So Yeong Park Score: 5 Heather Wilson Score: 4

Concentration • 12 slides of your chosen area of subject and style • should show progress / growth • needs developed idea • ought to be narrow and specific • written commentary

Breadth • 12 slides of your art in four areas: • color • design • drawings • all assigned in class
