The Daniel 9:26 Interval
The Interval And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:26 karat, to cut off, eliminate, kill, execute
The Interval And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:26
The People of the Prince • Emperor Augustus made sweeping reforms to the ranks of the Roman army • Afterwards, the make-up was anything but Italian or European • They were called “Provincials” (they came from provinces around the empire) • Recorded by both Publius Cornelius Tacitus and Flavius Josephus
The People of the Prince • They were made up of people from Asia Minor, Syria, Arabia and Egypt • They were ancestors of the modern-day inhabitants of the Middle East • It is possible that the biblical Antichrist is one and the same as the Quran's Muslim Mahdi

Luke The Spirit of efei is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of efei. Luke 4:18-19
Luke And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears. Luke 4:20-21
Isaiah The Spirit of efei GOD is upon me; because efei hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of efei, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; Isaiah 61:1-2
Isaiah Congratulations! It’s a COMMA! The Daniel 9:27 70th Week
The 70th Week And he (“the prince that shall come”) shall enforce the covenant with [the] many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Daniel 9:27
Why? • This covenant period defines the 70th week • He becomes very powerful and ignores his commitment • This implies there is a temple standing • The Jews have returned and re-established animal sacrifices • Suggests that, at least as a by-product of this covenant, Jews will have returned to the Levitical system
Why? • This is a repeat of the what happened with Antiochus Epiphanes in 167 BC (discussed later in this lesson) • Messiah makes reference to this (past) prophetically – A repeat of this event
“Time, Times, and ½ Time” • “Midst of the week” - The most documented period of time in the Bible • Time, times, the dividing of time (Dan 7:25; 4:16, 23, 25) • “Times” = dual, later lost in Aramaic (1 + 2 + ½ = 3 ½)Dan 7:25, Dan 12:7, Rev 12:14 • 3½ years Dan 9:27; 12:7 • 42 monthsRev 11:2; 13:5 • 1260 days Rev 11:3; Dan 12:6 • ½ “week” Dan 9:27

The Great Tribulation For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Matthew 24:21, 22
The “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”(Jeremiah 30:7) And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Daniel 12:1
The “Time of Jacob’s Trouble”(Jeremiah 30:7) I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me earnestly. Hosea 5:15

The First Beast (of 2) And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. Satan! (Rev 12:9) Revelation 13:1,2
The First Beast (of 2) And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast. Revelation 13:3
His Physical Description Woe to the idol shepherd that leaveth the flock! the sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye: his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be utterly darkened. Zechariah 11:17
2nd Beast: “False Prophet” And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. Revelation 13:11, 12
first And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. Revelation 13:14,15
And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Revelation 13:16-18
Whose Number? • Many point to bar codes, insertable chips, etc. for implementation technology and controls; • They overlook that it is hisnumber • and name that is the critical identity issue
Roman A review of The Islamic mahdi Antichrist?
Islam? • Many Bible verses as well as world events allude to an Islamic Empire vs. Roman Empire • The religion of Islam is the Antichrist religion • Muslims call their expected messiah “the Mahdi” • They call our Messiah “ad-Dajjal” (their Antichrist)
Support from Scripture • Joseph was the suffering Messiah • Joseph’s rejection by his brothers == Israel’s rejection of Messiah • David was the King Messiah • Messiah’s kingdom will be established in Jerusalem on David’s throne • Gideon was the warrior Messiah! • Gideon fought against Midian • Midian represents the Ismaelites (Judges 8:22)
Support from Scripture • The Bible portrays Messiah fighting against inhabitants of Arabia God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. And his brightness was as the light; he had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of his power. Habakkuk 3:3-4
Support from Scripture • Here we see Messiah in person returning from battle out of Temen in Arabia • How often is this discussed in churches? • He also fights against Cush (modern Sudan and Somalia) I saw the tents of Cushan in affliction: and the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble. Habakkuk 3:7
Support from Scripture • Midian refers to regions east of the Jordan River and southwards into Saudi Arabia • The heart of Islamic territory • The context of Habakkuk is the final battle of Messiah against the Antichrist: Then shall his mind change, and he shall pass over, and offend, imputing this his power unto his god. Habakkuk 1:11
