Science and Research SIG The mission of the Science and Research Special Interest Group is to ensure that the required national and international network infrastructures, monitoring tools, and collaborative systems, are developed and deployed in a timely fashion to meet the needs of scientists. Presenters • D. Preuss: • Overview on emerging trends on "Big Data", large scale networking and "the cloud" in the genomics community. • M. Sullivan: • Will briefly describe a proposal to create a Science DMZ tailored to the needs of organizations engaged in biomedical research.
