  1. VP/Region Leader Accountability in DFR, WOE, WOR

  2. Objectives • Confirm competence with DFR, WOR, and WOE • Align on how the DFR, WOR, and WOE should be used in the VP/RL role to monitor business results and provide a basis for coaching improvement with GMs. VP/RL should be the SME. • Offer routine “best practices” for their use in weekly and period management • Confirm sources and resources for their use • Teach or confirm how to use Quickr (pointers)

  3. Daily Focus Report • A report used by SVPs and RLs to manage outlier financial performance in Variable Labor, COGS, and Other Expense • Opportunity for the GM to “learn” to manage costs better by frequent scrutiny. • Opportunity for SVP/RL/GM to build “daily” control in advance of WOE and P&L. • Assigned by SVP to a GM based on performance • RL, where applicable, has accountability for proper completion and submission, follow up, teaching, and corrective action.

  4. Daily Focus Report (cont’d) • Submitted to SVP DFR place on Quickr on daily or weekly basis depending on SVP direction • Log into Quickr with regular email name and password • “Daily Focus Report – Vingas” • Vingas Library • Drag and drop to “bullseye” • Reviewed by SVP or RL for compliance and coaching • If applicable, RL reports results to SVP for direction and/or further action

  5. WOE • A report used by SVPs and RLs to review weekly financials, manage outlier performance in all general ledger accounts, and confirm alignment to Controller reconciliations. • Opportunity for the RL and GM to “learn” to manage costs better by frequent scrutiny. • Opportunity for SVP/RL/GM to build “weekly” control in advance of P&L. • Sourced from Area and Hub Controllers to SVP and RLs, prelim on Saturday, final on Tuesday. • RL is accountable for corrective action

  6. WOR • A report completed and submitted by GMs to report Operational performance criteria not reportable through other electronic means. • Example: Health Dept, Alcohol Compliance, WASTE, Promotions, etc. • Opportunity for SVP/RL/GM to monitor “weekly” performance factors in a central process rather than disparate processes • Opportunity for other CP functions to gather operating results critical to our success and strategies • Sourced from waste reports, promotional results, local gov’t evaluations, QUE3ST evaluations, and Client interaction.

  7. WOR (cont’d) • Submitted NLT than midnight EST every Friday by email to scorecards@centerplate.com. • BP – copy to RL and/or SVP for quicker review • Reconciled on Saturday morning by database, and uploaded to “WOR Submissions” place on Quickr on Monday morning, rolled up by: unit, RL, SVP, and Total CP. • “Exception report” returned by SPA office on Monday of reconciliation • RL is accountable for 100% submission • SVP or RL can access unit WOR by Monday afternoon for coaching when not CC’d on Friday night

  8. Future state • When we have WOE (electronic financial reporting) and WOR (semi-electronic Operational reporting) submitted correctly, we can develop a PERFORMANCE SCORECARD. • This Scorecard would enable: • A big picture look of operating factors in our business to give a “balanced” overview of results. • Objective criteria to clearly define performance and results at all levels (unit and rollups) for periodic or annual “performance review” • Provide critical, precise data for Operational strategies and goal setting, and fiscal planning

  9. Resources and sources • DFR (master blank) is found in each SVP place • WOE comes from Area and Hub Controllers, delivered to RLs on Quickr, “VP Financials” place • WOR (master blank) is found in Quickr “WOR Submissions’ • Closed units can be reported to David Lake in SPA • Quickr access or support can be requested of Ken Frazier or David Lake • WOR exception report is generated by D. Lake. Ken can support questions.

  10. Quickr points • Sign in with regular email login and password • If you need a place that’s not visible, it means you’re not assigned “security”. Send email request to Ken Frazier with name of place needed. • NOTE: LOGOUT of Quickr EVERY TIME you login. • This will allow any upgrades to take affect to your “places” access. Otherwise you won’t see them. • It will ensure our security. • The SVP and RL should be a SME on Quickr.

  11. Objectives • Confirm competence with DFR, WOR, and WOE • Align on how the DFR, WOR, and WOE should be used in the RL role to monitor business results and provide a basis for coaching improvement with GMs. RL should be the SME. • Offer routine “best practices” for their use in weekly and period management • Confirm sources and resources for their use • Teach or confirm how to use Quickr • What else can we help with?
