  2. What is adsense • It is a way to earn money online by getting Google to advertise in you web sites or blogs • There are various types of adsense • Adsense for contents • Adsense for search • Adsence for mobiles • Adsense for feeds • Adsense for games

  3. How much Do you Get • The pay is based on the number of clicks • For the contents, google pays the publishers, i.e the blog’s owner 68% of the revenue earned. • For the research it is 51% • So it depends on how many click you site received

Adsense Versus Adwords • They are the opposite site of the same coin. • An advertiser will use the service of google to advertise and pay google… that is adwords • The advertisers will focus the adverts, location and timing and pay googl per click. • Google responds by putting the ads in your blogs and pay you per click, % of what the advertisers pay google. • A win-win arrangement.

How to start adsense • First step is to build a blog, suggest the free blogspot. • Insert posting, about 20 postings, get it indexed by google. • Get some traffic, use the SEO and other advertisements. • When you have a reasonable traffic, 50 per day, then apply to google for adsense. • Insert the ads

  6. What to do if google rejected • Sometime google rejects the application • They have their reasons, may be traffic, may be the contents. • Resolve the issues or make different blogs.

Never Do This – You can get suspended • Never ever click on your own ads. • Don’t ask others to click on your ads. – like magic google knows this. • Do not insert content that had adult content, violence or excessive profanity • Do not use  copyrighted material. • Don’t modify the AdSense code. • Don’t place more than 3 ad units, 3 link units, 2 search boxes, and 3 referral units on any page.

Getting Better Results • Selection of the topic is critical – Topic that require further actions from the visitors. • Use the bigger ads, the bigger ads are recommended by google, e.g 326x280 or 160x600. The smaller ads normally do not attract attention. • Put the ads above the line, that mean the reader do not have to scroll to see the ads

  9. Using Channels • If you have many blogs, then you can use different channels to track the clicks. • Without channels, all the clicks will be summarised to one figure, you will not know which sites attract more clicks. • Monitor the effect of changing parameters.

  10. Ensuring Success • Traffic is critical, without traffic you will not get the clicks. • Best to use SEO, • Be persistence as result can be slow to take place • Increase the number of postings and the blogs
