  2. Two important points of clarification • All data reported is based on students who have been continuously enrolled. This means the students measured were in attendance since elementary school • In Special Education programs, there is a continuum of services that range from the Least Restrictive Environment which may be Consultant Teacher or Resource Room, OT, PT, or Speech, next is part-time inclusion, then full inclusion and then Self-Contained classes. • Hagan ranges from the least restrictive up to part-time inclusion • Nassau ranges from least restrictive through full-time inclusion

DRA a measure of accuracy, fluency, and comprehension • Grade level targets are ranges • Nassau student tend to score in the lower range of “on grade level” than Hagan students from the beginning • Nassau and Hagan students both make growth during the school year • Nassau students appear to have a substantial regression over the summer • By fourth grade, the gaps increase for the Nassau students

What were the special education enrollment numbers in Nassau and Hagan in grades 3-5? • In 08-09 Nassau had 25 classified students and Hagan had 15. • That means Nassau had 21% and Hagan had 6% classified students in those grades. • In 09-10 Nassau had 19 classified students and Hagan had 19. • That means Nassau had 17% and Hagan 8% classified students in those grades.

Is there a difference in the results between the two schools? 2008-2009 • 97% of Hagan’s Gen Ed students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 99% in Math in grades 3-5. • Hagan’s classified students in those grades scored at 67% 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 80% in math. • 81% of Nassau’s Gen Ed students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 90% scored 3’s and 4’s in math • 36% of Nassau’s classified students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 62% scored 3’s and 4’s in math

Is there a difference in the results between the two schools? 2009-2010 • 95% of Hagan’s Gen Ed students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 99% in Math in grades 3-5. • Hagan’s classified students in those grades scored at 58% 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 84% in math. • 89% of Nassau’s Gen Ed students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 92% scored 3’s and 4’s in math • 42% of Nassau’s Classified students scored 3’s and 4’s in ELA and 63% scored 3’s and 4’s in math
