  2. Thank you to the following for the comments sent in! • Austria, Canada, Germany, The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland and the U.S.A. • Industry Association - EUROFER • Albemarle

  3. Why a New Draft? • Updated data: • New BREF documents ( I & S, Glass, EU Directive) • Data presented during WGSR and posted on the web-site, • Personal information from national authorities, e.g Sweden and Norway • Reference to Basel Guidelines • Data on Secondary Aluminium and Manganese and on handling waste containing mercury in [square brackets ]

  4. Editorial Changes • Missing paragraphs of the Swiss draft (not changed) • Numbering of paragraphs • Particles, particulate matter  dust • Fugitive emissions  diffuse emissions • Costs in US$ or € depending on the original reference (not changed) • Double information deleted

  5. Proposed Changes for Sub-chapter IV (NFM) • To restructure and further update the sub-chapter covering several different metals • Complex structure • Often very specific techniques but also one technique for several metals possible • Second draft of the BREF issued • New or proposed National Standards in the U.S.A • Good possibilities for further improvement

  6. What could be the Next Steps? • Discussion on: • Updated information to be included, • Restructuring sub-chapter IV, • Inclusion of information on secondary aluminium and manganese production, • Inclusion of information on handling waste containing metallic mercury, • Then forward this document to the members of the TF HM and interested Parties for further comments • Lastly, prepare a final version of a draft guidance document.
