What to Do After Sending Your UCAS Application: Tracking Progress and Next Steps

After submitting your UCAS application, stay informed and proactive. Log on to the Track system regularly to monitor your application’s progress. You can add another choice, withdraw your choices, or respond to offers. UCAS Extra commences in February 2014 if you haven’t been offered a place. Remember, only one application is allowed per cycle, and you can only have up to 5 choices initially. Additionally, prepare for student finance applications starting in January 2014 and ensure you apply early. Check deadlines and available resources for a smooth transition.

  1. WHAT TO DO NEXT AFTER SENDING OFF YOUR UCAS APPLICATION?

  2. TRACK PROGRESS • www.ucas.com • Log on to the Track system regularly • Add another choice – up to 5 • Withdraw choices • Reply to offers

  3. UCAS EXTRA • Starts February 2014 • If you change your mind about current choices • Have not been offered a place • You can add 1 choice at a time • Will be dependant on places left on courses

  4. IMPORTANT • Only 1 application per cycle • 5 choices only until UCAS Extra • Withdrawn a choice you cannot add a replacement option • Cannot amend your application, personal statement or reference

  5. REPLY TO OFFERS • On the Track system • Expiry Date • Conditional Firm • Conditional Insurance • Unconditional

  6. Applying Entry 2015 • Come and see me before the end of the summer term • UCAS usually opens in June for the next cycle • Send applications off September 2014 when the new cycle starts accepting applictions • Please do not leave it until end of August/early September to see me!!!

  7. STUDENT FINANCE • www.gov.uk/studentfinance • Start applying from January 2014 TBC • Deadline for applications 30th June 2014 • PLEASE APPLY EARLY • Financial Year 2012/2013 for proof of income • 0845 300 5090 Student Finance Helpline

STUDENT FINANCE - NHS • You apply when you have accepted your place • Usually this does not happen to April-May onwards • Check website for clarification of the dates you can apply – they are different for each intake • Check bursary entitlement on the Award Estimate Calculator • www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk
