Pressure cleaning • There is a huge market for pressure cleaning • If you are going to be serious you need a 4000 psi pressure cleaning unit which comes standard with a 900mm hand gun/lance, 3 tips and a soaper nozzle • If you are going to do driveways, roof cleaning or patios, you will need a whirl-a-way • Also a 4m extension lance for use with the soaper nozzle and the small whirl-a-way

  3. Add to your maintenance programs • Pressure cleaning is a great add on service • It can also be a great routine maintenance item – especially in more southern climates where mould grows consistently Note: If you are pressure cleaning a roof, it will require 2 people.

Whirl-a-ways • Using the whirl-a-way allows you to make the same money as gutter cleaning because it will clean better and 10 TIMES FASTER than using just a hand lance • 12 inch – suitable for roof cleaning from the ground • 20 inch poly – suitable for normal roof cleaning from the roof • 22 inch stainless steel (4 wheels) – suitable for driveways, pavers and tiled areas

  10. On Arrival • Contact the customer • Say hello to the customer • Let them know what you are going to do

  11. Before beginning job • Inspect area • Check Access • Inspect condition of the surface • Confirm from phone discussion • Speak to customer about variations

Pre-treatment • Does the surface need to be pre-treated? • Start with this first. • Pre-treat using only biodegradable, environmental friendly roof and house wash • Use as directions state • Use your soaper wand to dispense • Use safety equipment when on the roof as per safety regulations and your “Working at heights” training

Pressure Cleaning • Set up close to the water supply • Always do a small patch test first in an inconspicuous place • Select the appropriate whirl-a-way for the task at hands • Use the gun and lance with the appropriate tip to finish off around antennas (eg. Foxtel, TV, etc), roof penetrations, etc (On the roof) • On the ground, use the gun and lance with the appropriate tip to clean the gutter and fascia

Things NOT to do • Don’t clean the eaves/soffit because this job does not require high pressure – instead it requires low pressure and more physical washing instead of blasting • We do not recommend general house washing (eg. Walls, etc) – we do gutters and fascia up and driveways/paths down • Don’t use your pressure cleaning equipment on timber decks • We DON’T clean or work on terracotta tile or fibro roofs

Things to remember • Expect the unexpected • Always give a range for your price to allow this ($4 - $6 per square metre) • The average 3 bed house is 150 square metres so that would be approximately $600 - $750 • Remember the worse thing that can happen is you just don’t charge enough for your time so don’t stress. There is no products, just time. • You should only do pressure cleaning if you can make the same sort of money as you do gutter cleaning

Start with Qualification process • Let the customer know that there are some details we need to get first to be able to qualify which service they need • How big is the area? • Is the property high or low set? (for roofs) • What is the material of the surface? • What is the condition of the surface? (eg. Mouldy) • Where do you live? • If in doubt, ask the client to send you a photo of the surface to check its condition. • Remember you can also use Google Earth to determine size of a surface and also the pitch of a roof from street view

  18. Working it out • $100 per hour for travel • $4 per square metre for just cleaning • An extra $1 per metre for pre-treatment
