  2. Why Plastic Bottles are Used? Reports say more than 50 billion plastic water bottles are sold in a year worldwide. Plastic bottles are used widely for packaging mineral drinking water, aerated drinks, juices and syrups, and more. They are lightweight which makes it popular for transporting liquids.

  3. Environmental Effects of Plastic Bottles Plastic is non biodegradable. A single bottle takes more than 1000 years to decompose naturally. The plastic water bottles environmental impact is huge. An estimated 17 million barrels of oil is used every year in the manufacturing of plastic water bottles. Additionally, it takes three times the volume of water to manufacture one bottle of water than it does to fill it. Valuable and exhaustible resources of the earth are wasted.

Another harmful substance is Phthalates which can cause reduced sperm count, testicular abnormality and other issues.
