  2. What is a duvet? A duvet is a type of bedding that is a soft bag that is filled with wool, down, feathers, or synthetic fillers. It is also referred to as a comforter in the United States. The duvet is protected with a removable cover known as the duvet cover. Including a duvet in your bedding makes the whole chore of making your bed a smooth process. It is a single accessory that can be used instead of a combination of sheets, blankets, quilts, and other bed accessories.   3. What is a comforter? A comforter is a thick, fluffy, and quilted blanket that keeps you warm. Usually, it is filled with synthetic fiber that is stitched or quilted to keep the filling secure and evenly distributed. However, unlike a duvet, a comforter forms only a piece of your bed linen. Often, it is placed on top of your sheets that add a layered look to your bed.
