Helpful Hints • Remember to fill out the check register before you write the check • Normally use a pen, for our simulation you may use a pencil • You are require to write checks, make deposits and reconcile for the first two months-January and February. • Do not begin a new month before reconciling the previous month– information carries over from month to month, just as it does in a real checking account

  3. Instructions • Read instructions on page one as I read aloud • Review instructions and worksheet for endorsements • Blank • Restrictive • Full • Check point: 1-31-12: after you write out check #108 (balance of $350.24)

  4. Closure • What is the balance at the end of the month? • What is a service charge? • Is there a service charge? • How much? • What do you have to do with the service charge?
