  2. My Self Portrait • This is my self portrait. I chose to convert my face to black and white, so that the colored layers could better be seen. The bird border I wanted to make very colorful to represent my artistic personality. To me, birds symbolize rising above your problems, so I use them a lot in my artwork. For my additional images I chose a feather pen to represent my love for art history, two wedding rings because I recently got married, an artist’s palette because my favorite art medium is paint, a picture of my dog because she reminds me to be kind, and a picture of book pages folded to look like a heart because I read myself to sleep every night.
