Interactive Nouns and Poetic Devices Lesson Plan

On August 29, 2013, we will focus on nouns through interactive notebooks and poetic devices. Students will set up their notebooks, explore nouns via a BrainPOP video, and engage in a class practice session. We will create a personal “All About Me” page, where students will cut out the letter “I” and list nouns that define them, alongside drawings or words that describe their identities. Additionally, we will watch a YouTube video on poetic techniques to enhance our understanding of language.

Interactive Notebook • We will briefly decorate our cover. • We will be setting up our Table of Contents on the first 2 pages of our composition notebook. • Title a clean page “All About Me” Cut out letter “I” and tape in book on the right side. • Create an I am list of nouns for yourself inside the letter “I”. • On the left page draw pictures or write words that describe you.
