  2. Bram Stoker • was born on November 8th 1847 • best known today for his Gothic novel Dracula • this book had its reputation established only after Stoker’s death • is remembered in the history of literature as the creator of the most famous vampire

  3. The Beginnings of Dracula • the book appeared in 1897 • it is an epistolary novel mainly composed of journal entries and letters • is often regarded as the culmination of vampire stories • is considered a unique story from that period and remained a best seller until today

  4. Dracula’s Roots • The story is partly inspired by a Romanian ruler • Other vampire stories helped Stoker • The vampire stories will continue to arouse interest as well as fascination because of the mystery that encircles one of the most famous representatives of evil

  5. Dracula’s Fruits • the most famous adaptation was made in 1931 being considered a truly masterpiece • in 1958 a more gothic version was directed by Tod Browning • a new version of the story was made in 1992 by Francis Ford Coppola
