  2. Introduction The workshop will cover • Europe for Citizens Programme • Youth in Action • Lifelong Learning Programme • ESF Community Grants Highlight forthcoming opportunities

Europe for Citizens Through this programme, citizens have the opportunity to be involved in transnational exchanges and cooperation activities, contributing to developing a sense of belonging to common European ideals and encouraging the process of European integration.   4. Europe for Citizens Funding split into four strands • Action 1 - Active Citizens for Europe • Action 2 - Active civil society in Europe • Action 3 - Together for Europe • Action 4 - Active European Remembrance

Europe for Citizens Specific Interest to Voluntary Sector - Action 1: • Town Twinning – projects are expected to: • Experience active civic participation • Encourage citizens to become more involved • Reinforce commitment to European integration • Grants available up to 25,000 Euros. Also possible to apply for a network of twinned towns • Deadlines 1st February 2013 and 1st June 2013

Europe for Citizens Specific Interest to Voluntary Sector - Action 2: • Citizens projects are expected: • Collect opinion of citizens • Encourage dialogue between citizens and European institutions • Develop civic competences • New methodologies for promoting active interaction • Grants available – 100,000 to 250,000 Euros. • Deadlines 1st June 2013

Europe for Citizens Specific Interest to Voluntary Sector - Action 2: • Projects initiated by civil society organisations are expected to: • Target themes of general European interest paying particular attention to the impact of the European policies • Grants available: 55,000 to 150,000 Euros • Deadlines 1st February 2013 and 1st June 2013

Youth in Action • Promotes mobility within and beyond the • EU's borders, non-formal learning and intercultural dialogue • Actions funded by the UK National Agency(British Council) include Youth Exchanges, Youth Democracy Projects, European Voluntary Service, Cooperation with EU Neighbouring Countries, Training and Networking activities, Meetings of youth and policy-makers • There are 5 bidding deadlines each year

LLP Leonardo Is for organisations involved in vocational education and training – opportunities: • Mobility for trainees and staff • Partnerships to share knowledge and ideas on a common theme – length 2 years and minimum 3 partners – up to 25,000 Euros • Transfer of Innovation – large scale co-operation projects – up to 300,000 Euros

LLP - Grundtvig • Senior Volunteering – exchange of volunteers over 50 years between two countries • Visits & Exchanges – enables adult education staff to attend conference or job-shadowing • In-Service Training – enables adult education staff to attend training courses • Partnerships – work with other adult education providers on a common theme - length 2 years and minimum 3 partners – up to 25,000 Euros

Community Grants ESF Small Grants programme in the Region Co-Financing from the Skills Funding Agency • Regional contract held by TCHC - based in Watford • http://www.tchc.net/services/community-grants • Grants available for up to £12,000 to work with • People with disabilities and health conditions • Lone parents • People aged 50 or over • People from ethnic minorities.
