The diamond industry in the country is based on extremely high-value transactions that demand mutual trust. Also, India’s diamond exports ranked second in the world, valued at US$ 18.1 billion, which accounted for 15.3% of the global diamond exports in FY17. However, over the years with excessive mining, gem-quality diamonds are getting increasingly extinct.
