Innovative Strategies for Student Education Planning: Enhancing Advising Models

The 2014 Spring Conference addresses key challenges in student education planning: preparation, institutional counseling capacity, and creating meaningful education plans. With over half of LBCC students undeclared, effective strategies include implementing career exploration courses, requiring goal declarations for planning sessions, and enhancing counselor-student ratios. New models focus on mandatory orientations, electronic education plans, and close monitoring of students' SEP progress. This collaborative effort aims to empower students in owning their education path and making informed decisions for their futures.
