  1. Formal Assessment Domestic Church - Family This term, the formally assessed theme is the CHURCH THEME Attainment Target 1 Strand 1

  2. Assessing Domestic Church / Family • We will be formally assessing AT1 – (LEARNING ABOUT RELIGION) Strand (i). The children may be informally assessed against the other strands. • Each year group will assess from an activity taken, or adapted, from a Learning Focus or Key Question in Reveal. • The activities are listed over the next few slides. • When planning please leave this task out. • Please teach all of ‘Explore’ and ‘Reveal’ (but don’t use the task identified for the formal assessment) then, after ‘Remember’, please formally assess using the activities indicated. • This enables the children to have had opportunity to work through the topic in full to inform their assessment.

  3. N.B. Some of the tasks within do require some further research and background knowledge, particularly within Levels 3 and 4. • With this in mind, a set of Background Notes (see website) and Topic Webs (see below) have been produced to guide teachers and supplement knowledge. • Within reason, teachers may ‘scaffold’ tasks to ensure the child works at the appropriate level for their ability. • Following the assessments, please level and moderate work to ensure accuracy. • Teachers can use Recording Sheets for individual pupils, but Context Sheets should be used when moderating. • Please record achievement on each child’s Record of Attainment (by the end of Autumn term) using the designated colour for the Year Group. • Teachers should track progress within the class and pass information to the Co-ordinator so progress across the school can be tracked. Governors should be kept informed.
