  2. Brazil is a Federal Republic formed by 26 (twenty six) States plus one Federal District. Brazil is the largest country in Latin America. It is also the world’s fifth largest country, both by geographical area and by population (with over 192 million people) . BRAZIL

  3. Sao Paulo State is the most developed state in Brazil and is responsible for 33,1% of the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product – DGP. With over than 41 million inhabitants, Sao Paulo is the most populous state in Brazil. SAO PAULO

  4. The Brazilian Law Enforcement is divided in three different institutions:Federal PoliceState Military PoliceState Civil Police THE POLICE OF BRAZIL

  5. The main assignments of the Federal Police are the investigations of crimes against the Federal Government or its organs, the combat of international drugs trafficking, terrorism, smuggling, immigration and border control including airports and water police. . FEDERAL POLICE

  6. The Military Police is the State Police with order maintenance and crime prevention functions. It is responsible for patrolling the streets and to imprison suspects of criminal activity. . MILITARY POLICE

  7. The Civil Police have the functions of investigating crimes committed in violation of Brazilian criminal law, clarifying the circumstances of the crimes and the guilty. CIVIL POLICE

  8. The Civil Police also has the assignment of minor conflict mediation related to restorative justice. CIVIL POLICE

  9. The Civil Police is divided in:- Judiciary Police;- Forensic Police. THE DIVISIONS OF CIVIL POLICE

  10. The Police Academy is one of the Sao Paulo Civil Police Departments. It is responsible for recruiting and training the new civil police officers and current employees ensuring continuing professional development. SAO PAULO POLICE ACADEMY

  12. Sao Paulo Police Academy has two teaching unitsin Sao Paulo City and it is able to training 2.000 police officers at the same time:Campus I (Centre City)Campus II(Countryside) POLICE ACADEMY STRUCTURE

  13. Campus II of Police Academy is utilized for field training:- Long-range shooting- Mediation in Conflicts- Defensive Driving- Simulation of Real-life Police Situation POLICE ACADEMY STRUCTURE

  14. Besides the two Sao Paulo City Units, the Police Academy has more 9 Units of Education established in some of the main cities of Sao Paulo State. POLICE ACADEMY STRUCTURE

  15. The Police Academy has a modern Distance Learning System, which is able to trainee police officers that live in cities far from the Capital. DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM

  16. Crime Museum, stated in Police Academy building, portrays and preserves the history of Sao Paulo Civil Police, with a respectable collection of criminology and forensic studies. . CRIME MUSEUM

  17. ThePolice Academy has a virtual shooting simulator. This new technology can train for the most difficult real-world situations, such as ambushes, active shooters and maintaining situational awareness during extreme stress. VIRTUAL SHOOTING SIMULATOR

  18. Sao Paulo Police Academy has 610 Teachers, divided in:-11 Doctors;- 40 Masters, and- 77 Professors. POLICE ACADEMY STAFF

  19. Last year, Sao Paulo Police Academy, trained and graduated more than 12.000 police officers. . STUDENTS
