Recommendations for Enhancing Student Textbook Accessibility and E-Content Usage

On May 3, 2012, an E-Pub Task Group comprised of educators and stakeholders convened to discuss and recommend strategies for improving student access to textbooks and educational resources. The group advocates for the integration of e-content solutions like Flatworld Knowledge and highlights the importance of open educational resources (OER). They are monitoring innovative initiatives at Cornell and the University of Buffalo aimed at providing cost-effective course content. Additionally, the group supports the SUNY Learning Commons to foster communities of practice surrounding e-publications and encourages ongoing discussions about open access.
