  1. 2 Corinthians 3 Treasure in Earthen Vessels

  2. Yesterday and today Paul Defends his Conduct towards the Ecclesia (1,2,7) • Salutation (1:1-2) • Fellowship of suffering (1:3-14) • Reasons for Paul's changes of plan (1:15-2:4) • Forgiving the offender (2:5-11) • Disappointment and joy at Troas (2:12-17) • The comfort Titus brought (7:5-16) Treasure in Earthen Vessels (3-5) • The Corinthians – a letter from Christ (3:1-6) • A fading and an abiding glory (3:7-16) • The message of Christ faithfully delivered (3:17-4:6) • Treasure in earthen vessels (4:7-15) • The sustaining hope (4:16-5:10) • The ministry of reconciliation (5:11-6:10)

  3. The hope of glory • Since we have such a hope, we are very bold • (2Co 3:12)

  4. Metamorphosis • And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit. • (2Co 3:18)

  5. Eye on the mark • Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. • But we have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways. We refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God's word, but by the open statement of the truth we would commend ourselves to everyone's conscience in the sight of God. • (2Co 4:1-2)

  6. Outcome of grace • For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. • (2Co 4:15)

  7. Email fro Sarajevo (Bosnia) • I don't see my friends at all, the only person I see all the time is Medina! • I don't complain but, I am always so much tired. Get go to work, sleep get back to work etc... I feel like I am missing something to fill me in. • I try to read various books, Bible, but i is like I am blind, I can't understand anything. And i have this feeling that I am so alone. A prisoner of my own mind, real weird. • To be very honest I have been tempted to start drinking, and even smoking. I know that this wouldn't take me anywhere, but I feel very lonely.

  8. Our motives • Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. • We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. • For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. • (2Co 5:11-13) >
