Regional Activities • In 2006, four teams of HQ VIP delegates visited Beijing, Xian, Chongqing, and Guangzhou. • All delegates then gathered together in Shanghai to convene the Executive Committee in April 2006. • The meeting confirmed the accord of importance and priority in the promotion of IEEE activities in Region 10,

  3. Formation of New Sections • 8 new sections were formed in R10 1) Six in China; Xian, Chengdu, Wuhan, Harbin, Nanjing, Shanghai (Xian and Shanghai from subsection to full section) 2) One in Vietnam, Vietnam 3) One in Japan, Shin-etsu

  8. R10 Student/GOLD Congress 2006 • The Student/GOLD Congress was held in Beijing 132 Student Branch Chairs or representatives, 87 of them were oversea delegates and 45 were students from China. The total number was 220. • The 2006 IEEE President Michael Lightner, other VIP and volunteers participated, • The 1st GOLD Congress was also organized in conjunction with the Student Congress and was attended by 17 GOLD leaders.

  9. Regional ExCom and General Meetings • Region 10 meetings; Singapore in March, 2005 ChiangMai, Thailand in March, 2006 • The three Region 10 ExCom meetings; Shanghai, China in January, 2005 Gold Coast in January ,2006 Perth, Australia in January, 2007.

  10. Regional Financial Status • Finally and most importantly the financial status of Region 10 for the 2006 fiscal year is: • Healthy with, • Approximately $30thousand in surplus for the overall budget of, • Approximately $300 thousand.
