  3. Biometric screenings at your worksite • A biometric screening reveals a participant's current state of health and helps to identify any risks - participants will learn what areas of their health may need improvement

  4. Biometric screenings at your worksite • UnitedHealthcare has contracted with RediClinic to provide onsite biometric screenings for HealthSelect participants in the following counties: • Hays, Bexar, Medina, Harris, Montgomery, Galveston, Comal, Waller, Fort Bend, Travis and Williamson

  5. Biometric screenings at your worksite • Biometric screenings are covered at 100% by the HealthSelect plan with no cost to the participant and include the following tests: total cholesterol with HDL/LDL, glucose, hemoglobin (A1C), blood count (CBC), comprehensive metabolic panel and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH)

Biometric screenings at your worksite • Results are available within 3-5 days through the RediClinic secure online patient portal at http://myrediclinic.com/ – participants will be given login information when their biometric screening is performed – results can be shared with the participant’s PCP if the PCP’s information is provided

  7. Biometric screenings at your worksite • RediClinic requires a minimum of 50 participants and at least a 30 day lead time to prepare for the event

  10. Planning for Screening • Plan for 1 – 2 visits from RediClinic staff: • Space considerations visit • Technology check visit

  11. Space Considerations • Area for registration • Area for BP, height, weight, waist measurements • Area for blood draw • Area for clinical counseling

  12. Space Considerations • Furniture needs: • Table and chairs • How many of each depends on • space configuration • Proximity to electrical outlets for registration tables

  13. Technology • Contact your IT department • RediClinic will need WiFi and electrical access • RediClinic will need help with laptop(s) and printer(s) • RediClinic will need Internet access

  14. Participant Sign-up • With RediClinic’sassistance, determine how many time slots per hour • Sign-up sheet should be readily accessible (ERS posted on Intranet) • Day of: print multiple copies; ask RediClinic how many their staff needs

  15. Participant Sign-up cont… • Send reminder email day before or morning of screening • Be prepared to call no-shows to remind them • Call anyone on the waiting list or send an email to invite walk-ins after checking with RediClinic

  16. Reminders for participants • Bring government-issued ID • Bring HealthSelect insurance card • Short sleeve shirts allow for easier blood draw • Drink plenty of water throughout the day • Each visit takes 20 to 30 minutes
