Business Consulting - An Overview • Business consulting indicates both the industry and practice of hiring external consultants to help organizations improve their performance primarily through independent analysis of existing organizational problems and development of plans for improvement. The practice of offering business executives third party advice, expertise, and support with the aim of enhancing the business's performance resulting in an overall increase in the value of the business for its shareholders.  • Organizations hire consultancy services for many reasons, including gaining external advice and access to the consultants' specialized expertise. Consultancies may provide specific solutions, development of coaching skills, technology implementation, strategy development, or operational improvement services.
