This initiative focuses on integrating the invaluable insights of carers into social work education by treating them as trainers. Launched in September 2004, this honors degree program aims to enhance students' learning and professional development by involving carers as stakeholders. The partnership seeks to develop teaching tools, improve student assessment, and acknowledge diversity in care experiences. Through direct teaching and evaluation, the program enriches students' understanding of the human aspects of long-term illness, fostering a more compassionate approach to social work.
